Europe, what are people worth to you?

We can build a better Europe together -
with Feminist Fiscal Policy.

Together for a Europe for ALL!

As Fiscal Feminist Hub, we see that the financial crisis of 2008 is still having a major impact on the lives of people in Europe today. Here we present how we want to tackle this together with you.

Money is power. And this power lies in the hands of a few men.

This harms everyone who is not white, male and heterosexual: Women, disabled people, BPOC, migrant & queer people. It is mainly men in politics and business who decide how the European Union spends money, how big which financial pots become and in which sectors investments are made. In practice, in theory and in social debates, financial policy is a topic occupied by men for men.

We are living in a time of multiple crises: The 2008 financial crisis, the coronavirus crisis, the war in Ukraine, inflation and poor wages. As a result: problems such as (youth) unemployment, pension cuts in southern Europe and a poorer healthcare system are not being solved sustainably.

What can help?

Financial policy for participation: feminist, european and leaves no one behind!
In the european union ...
... we can create 10.5 million new jobs by 2050 if we pave the way to new, better-paid jobs for women who are not yet working. (European Institute for Gender Equality)
United Kingdom
In the UK, an independent network of academics and activists is specifically involved in shaping the financial pots. They are a key player in the budget debates.
Spain
In Spain, women lay down their paid and unpaid work on March 8 and show how much influence this work has on the functioning of society.
Austria
In Austria, gender-equitable budget planning has been part of the constitution since 2009.
Italy
In Italy, it is mainly women who fight in anti-mafia organizations. This fight for public attention on corruption and economic influence through mafia structures, which is often led by women, is feminist.

why us?

We want to prove that the EU will become fairer if gender equality is considered and implemented in European financial policy!

In concrete terms, this means that we bundle feminist projects and their financial needs from all over Europe, develop a list of demands and bring together science and activism to become even stronger!

We want to reignite the debate on European financial policy one year before the European Parliament elections and bring the debate from the streets to Parliament.

why now?

Our Mission: We want to be involved in the European budget and financial negotiations from 2024.
No more EU budget without feminism
